Town to Country
Earlier in the week, I visited a spot along Albert Street in Auckland city that I’ve forgotten about. The art deco building at this sport has a signage that harks back to the late 60’s and early 70’s on Albert Street. I’ve not seen the building occupied or the unit on the ground floor open for business since I can remember. Building and road works along Albert Street has resulted in noise, dust and barricades which has made the area unappealing to visit.
As works draw to a close after many years of disruption, the area has started to be more welcoming and I drawn back to the spot. My 35mm lens was too tight for this road especially when they have not taken down all the barricades on the other side of the road and I was standing one lane too close.
The signage and the building is really attractive to me. I’ll revisit in a few more weeks when the barricades are fully down and I can make images without getting in anyone’s way.
Our neighbour’s tree has grown over to our property and threatens to damage our planting and garden. We got our arborist in to see to the tree and spent the next few backbreaking days clearing up the branches that were cut down.
