More End of Year Projects
It started with a roof upgrade and we moved to two other projects in the garden to round off 2024.
Project 2
Flax is a native plant to New Zealand. It generally stands tall and proud in the bush and in some gardens. However, its strength and beauty also has a dark side, it grows quickly and can easily overpower a garden. And in our garden is one massive 3m tall flax plant that we’ve decided has to go.
All that is left is a stump which we need our neighbours Mike and Bev to help us pull out with their 4 wheel drive gator. Here are the before and after pictures.
Project 3
Right beside the flax we removed is a spread of Coprosma. The plant has acted as ground cover, connecting the plants in the garden with the lawn as the original landscaper had desired. We have decided to break this connection and plant a different type of plant to change the joining colour from green to dark red. But first, out comes the Coprosma and a big tidy up of the flax sitting behind it.
